Goal:
To end the epidemics of TB in the seventeen project townships in line with SDGs 3 by contributing to the national initiatives and to reduce MDRTB cases in the 10 townships of Yangon by improving quality of evening DOT services on three years (2018-2020).

 

Objectives
1. To mobilize and empower communities to prevent and reduce the burden of tuberculosis

2. To promote access to early diagnosis and prompt treatment for Tuberculosis

3. To sustain and improve the quality of DOTS services to reach all TB patients and thereby to improve the treatment success rate among all TB detected patients

4. To support the treatment success of MDR TB patients while ensuring infection control and prevention of Tuberculosis

Activities
• Training and refresher training of Community TB Volunteers (CTVs).
• Awareness raising (Health Education/HE group talk) by CTVs and Township Project Coordinators (TPCs)
• IEC distribution (pamphlet, poster etc.)
• Detection and referral of presumptive TB cases for diagnosis by CTVs and further treatment at Township NTP Department.
• Patients care and DOTS supported by CTVs
• TA supports to presumptive & all notified TB cases
• HCP supports to all notified TB patients
• TA support to MDRTB patients for sputum/culture examination (30,000 MMK/month)
• Nutritional support to MDRTB patients (in cash-28000 MMK/month)
• Home visit care activities of MDRTB patients
• Infection control monitoring of MDRTB patients
• Side effect monitoring of MDRTB patients
• Contact tracing referral of MDRTB patients for diagnosis by TPCs/CTVs
